Rob Carmichael / Catsup Plate

Recently I traded some goods with the unstoppable Rob Carmichael (SEEN), designer and the frontman to label/art project Catsup Plate. Rob hooked me up with some hot releases.

Black Dice – “Chocolate Cherry” 7 inch
Eric Copeland – “Al Anon” LP

Catsup Plate mostly does limited runs of their releases and they often have silkscreened covers!  From ’93 – ’97 CP was a tape only label(!) but now it just makes more sense to put ’em out on wax.

Rob is an incredible person and is on top of his game. It’s likely you’re not unfamiliar with his homies Animal Collective, Black Dice, Dirty Projectors, Tickley Feather, Born Ruffians, the list goes on! He’s worked with these rad bands on album design/layout for several releases (not necessarily on Catsup Plate).  He’s the dude that took on the difficult task of matching pantones for the Merriweather Post Pavilion pattern (so the trippy optical illusion would work juuuust right).

Rob makes buying records even more enjoyable.
